This indie city builder allowed players of all experiences to build their own idyllic ocean-side towns with just a few clicks. Maybe we could drag the land up/down, at the start of a build and, as soon a the first block is placed, the land is “fixed”, so that any more dragging is for slopes.Townscaper was originally released in June 2020 and received rave reviews from players across the world. It would be nice, as others have mentioned, if we could have terrain. And the people (both imagined and real! 😁) would be ever so pleased. If you could drag a road/pathway/terrace toward another level, so that it created a slope, then the scene would look more realistic. Without slopes, the only way people could move around would be to go inside a building, climb the stairs (or use a lift) to get to another level of houses. The fantastic adventures that you will live will keep you glued to your computer for hours. One niggle I have is that the villages, towns or cities that I have built don’t look real, because you can’t create slopes. This is one of these games, that giving them low rating feels wrong, but at the same time you know you cant give them any more. If you’re a fan of the Townscaper game you can not miss this unique opportunity.
Like many others, I do have a wish-list of things that I’d like to see as the app (hopefully) is developed: nothing too extreme, as that would remove the simplicity and, therefore, the relaxed nature that it currently exudes. If you allow it to, it can be very relaxing. The function of this app is so beautifully realised, that you can easily “lose” an hour and not have thought of anything, other than where the next block goes. If you want to be absorbed to the point where your worries can, possibly, be forgotten for a while, then this is an app for you. If you want to be challenged look elsewhere. Play online, access classic NES and Super NES games, and more with a Nintendo. The price tag I understand will put many people off, but for such a smooth experience and the beautiful aesthetics and colours, personally I believe it is worth every penny. Wouldn’t change a thing about it, but there’s potential to add to it, an idea perhaps to allow to build docks or marinas, and hence have boats and pedestrians, but please don’t ruin the game trying to implement new things as so many other developers have done in the past. The fact that where you can place buildings and pavement isn’t linear, really makes it so much more realistic to create your own quaint town which you’d expect to see if you were travelling through Europe. Now this game is nothing less than superb, there’s no real aim nor purpose but I wouldn’t have it any other way, it encourages your creative side.
